Philia (/ˈfɪliə/; from Ancient Greek φιλία (philía)), often translated as “highest form of love“, is one of the four ancient Greek words for love: philia, storge, agape and eros. In Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics, philia is usually translated as “friendship” or affection.
